WS Browser Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy was updated and became effective on March 27, 2026.
Introduction
WS Browser is a platform that provides services to users (“you”) by WS BROWSER SDN. BHD. and its affiliates (collectively, “WS” or “we”). Through this WS Browser Privacy Policy (“this Privacy Policy”), we explain how we process and protect your personal information when you use our products or services.
1. Scope of Application
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all core features and services provided to you through the “WS Browser” app by WS. Core features refer to the services we provide through “WS Browser,” including searching for and visiting web pages, browsing information, downloading files, and Safer Browsing Alerts.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to products or services provided by third-party platforms that you access through “WS Browser.” When you use products or services provided by third-party platforms, please carefully read their privacy policies or similar statements and make your own decisions.
2. Basis for Processing Personal Information
Before you start using our core features, please read and fully understand this Privacy Policy carefully, and pay special attention to the clauses marked in bold. Please make sure you fully understand and agree to this Privacy Policy before using the app. If you agree to this Privacy Policy, it means that you agree to the collection of personal information necessary for the use of core features.
2. What Information We Collect and How We Use It
WS Browser does not require account registration to use any of its core features. We do not use your browsing data to create an account-based profile, and we do not sync your personal browsing data to the cloud or use it for cross-platform advertising tracking.
We follow the principles of lawfulness, legitimacy, and necessity, and only collect and use your information to provide core feature services.
(1) Searching for and Visiting Web Pages
1. Standard Mode
In this mode, you can use the browser to search for and access web content. To ensure the feature works properly, we read the following information locally on your device. This information is not uploaded to our servers:
- System language and region settings: We read your device language and regional preferences to localize the interface display, including support for right-to-left layouts such as Arabic. This information is used only on your device and is not collected or uploaded by us.
- Search keywords: Stored only locally on your device to enable search history, making it easier for you to revisit or re-enter previous searches. We do not upload your search keywords to our servers.
- Clipboard data (only when triggered by your copy/paste action): Used for quick paste in the address bar. We do not store this information.
2. Private Browsing Mode
In Private Browsing mode:
- Your browsing history, cookies, and website data are not saved;
- Information entered in forms is not saved;
- Tab session data is stored in memory only and is automatically cleared when the app terminates.
Private Browsing mode can help prevent other users of your device from viewing your browsing history. However, it does not prevent websites you visit or your network provider from being aware of your activity.
(2) Browsing Web Pages
When you use WS Browser to access web pages:
- Browsing history is stored only locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. You may clear it at any time through “Settings, Clear All Browsing Data”;
- Bookmarks and favorites are stored only locally on your device and are not synced to the cloud;
- Your Reading List is stored only locally on your device;
- To provide necessary localized web display functions, regional adaptation may be applied based on your device language and region settings, and not for any other purpose;
- To support Safer Browsing Alerts, the browser may check the registered root
domain of a requested website (for example,
example.com) with our service. This check is used only to provide Safer Browsing Alerts and is not linked to your identity. Please note that alerts are provided for reference only. Because online risks change over time, alerts may not be available for every website in all cases; - Website icons and tab screenshots are stored only locally on your device for bookmark display and tab preview purposes.
(3) File Downloads
To provide download services, we use the following information:
- Download URL, file name, and download path, solely for implementing the download function, and stored in a download record database on your device;
- Downloaded files are saved in the app sandbox directory. We do not upload your downloaded files to any server;
- You may access, rename, and delete downloaded files in the in-app download manager.
(4) Safer Browsing Alerts
To support Safer Browsing Alerts, we will:
- Perform domain checks needed to provide Safer Browsing Alerts (see the “Browsing Web Pages” section above for details);
- Retrieve an up-to-date list of available search engines from our server. These requests do not include your search queries or other personal information.
(5) Explanation of System Permissions
- Network access permission: Used when the app browses web pages, supports Safer Browsing Alerts, and in other related scenarios during operation
- Camera permission: Required, with your permission, to scan QR codes and open related web content
- Microphone permission: Required, with your permission, when a website requests microphone access
- Location permission: Required, with your permission, when services such as web-based maps request location information
All of the system permissions above follow the iOS authorization mechanism. You may view and change their authorization status at any time in iOS under “Settings, Privacy & Security.”
3. How We Entrust Processing, Share, Transfer, or Disclose Your Personal Information
(1) Entrusted Processing
To provide more complete products or services, certain features may be provided by our partners. We may entrust partners to process certain personal information on our behalf, such as for infrastructure technical services, storage services, and data processing services.
We will enter into strict data processing agreements with entrusted parties, clearly specifying the processing matters, term, nature, purpose, and each party’s responsibilities, and requiring them to process your personal information only in accordance with our instructions and this Privacy Policy.
(2) Sharing
1. Sharing Based on Your Choice
Where you expressly consent or actively choose to do so, we will share information within the scope of your authorization with the third parties you designate, for example when you share content to a third-party platform through the browser’s sharing feature.
2. Interaction With Search Engines
When you perform a search, your query is sent directly to the search engine you select (such as Google, Bing, Baidu, etc.). WS Browser does not intercept or record your search queries. Your use of these search engine services is subject to their respective privacy policies.
3. Sharing With Third-Party Service Providers
We only share necessary information with third parties for lawful, legitimate, and necessary purposes, and we require them to adopt adequate security measures and strictly comply with applicable laws and regulations.
(3) Transfer
Except in the following circumstances, WS will not transfer your personal information to any entity:

- If WS undergoes a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you in advance through in-app notices, announcements, or other appropriate means, and protect your related rights;
- Other circumstances already described in this Privacy Policy or otherwise notified to you.
(4) Disclosure
WS may disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
- We have obtained your explicit consent, or you have proactively made the information public through our services;
- As required by applicable law, legal process, litigation, or lawful requests from competent government authorities.
4. How We Protect Your Personal Information
(1) Security Measures
We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. To prevent information from being leaked, damaged, misused, accessed without authorization, disclosed without authorization, or altered, we take the following measures:
- On iOS, local data in WS Browser is stored using system-managed SQLite and UserDefaults, protected by the iOS sandbox mechanism and data protection APIs;
- Data transmitted over networks is encrypted using HTTPS;
- We regularly conduct security and privacy protection training to improve our team’s awareness and practices;
- We conduct data security due diligence on partners and sign data processing agreements to define responsibilities and obligations.
(2) Personal Information Security Incidents
Although we have taken necessary protective measures, the internet is not absolutely secure. If a personal information security incident occurs, we will promptly initiate our emergency response plan, take reasonable measures to reduce risk, and inform you in a timely manner of:

(2) Retention Period
Local data is under your control, and you may clear it at any time through in-app settings or by uninstalling the app.
(3) Deletion and Uninstallation
- You may clear local history, cache, cookies, and website data at any time through “Settings, Clear All Browsing Data”;
- After you uninstall this app, all locally stored data (including history, bookmarks, download records, and settings) will be permanently removed from your device.
6. Protection of Minors
We attach great importance to protecting the personal information of minors. This app is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you are under the age of 18, please use this app only after your parent or legal guardian has carefully read and agreed to this Privacy Policy.
If you are the guardian of a minor and have any questions about the personal information of the minor under your care, please contact us using the contact details provided in this Privacy Policy.
